Getting Back into Art

I bought myself a sketch pad and color pencils to get myself back into drawing. I have never been too good with coloring but I was pretty decent at drawing. I would like to practice and gain those skills back especially since my art class I will be taking is about basics of drawing. I tried my hand at it when I was in Philadelphia where I bought the sketch pad and pencils. I wasn't great, but I wasn't too bad either. All I need is to know what I want to draw which doesn't come easy to me now since I haven't drawn in such a long time. Hopefully I'll be more than decent by the time i am done with the art class. Do you draw or do any other form of art? How do you come up with what to create? Does it come easy to you or did it take you long to develop your skills?
