Have you ever thought about being a writer?

January 9, 2017 9:17am CST
I think every - or at least the most - reader must have thought, at some point in life, about becoming a writer. I've thought of a lot of stories, and I even started to write some... But I never finished them. One day who knows, I take my ideas to the end. Being able to earn a living by writing must be fantastic! Not only because of the financial issue (if you succeed, of course)... But because you can express yourself in your own way, and with that, you can influence people.

I have a journalism degree so it did cross my mind but a degree hardly means the ability to actually earn a living. Better off flipping burgers for $15 an hour.

The same can be said for many degrees. Still I am betting that your education did have some benefits.

Many here are writers on various sites, including this one. Perhaps you should consider finishing the stories you have started now.

Yes, it would be fantastic to also be known as a Writer and to have some of my stuff published somewhere. Writing is one of my passions, but unless you're really good could be harder to live off of.

The question is what kind of a writer and what content? The power of the pen is a real and something wonderful thing.

I am a poet and a writer and I enjoy it very much but I know I will never earn a living from it. However who knows who might one day read my writings and say hey, we'll pay you for that.
