I have had these artificial flowers for a while now but they are starting to look tired and reluctantly they are going out. The paler one is made of tissue paper. The other looks like a gerbera. They are so lifelike and for ages I have enjoyed seeing them sitting in the window whenever I arrive home from being out. I wouldn't have given you tuppence for artificial flowers once but they are now so lifelike I don't mind them at all. I still don't think they take the place of real ones though.

I have never ever fancied artificial flowers. Being a gardener I always felt freshness in my house would be my choice. But at that party I hosted for the mentally challenged they presented me with a bouquet of artificial flowers made by them. They are now adorning my house and I do not have the heart to consign them to you know where

They do look nice. Not being a gardener there are very rarely any flowers in our garden.

For us artificial flowers are a no no to us. We like the real thing and the fragrance.

Because we're not gardeners we rarely have any flowers that we can bring inside. Real flowers are certainly best.

My favorite thing about artificial flowers and plants is you can water them with dehydrated water and never have to worry about spills.

@JudyEv The question begs to be asked, why would someone have an artificial pot plant, and why would they need to hide it.

Years ago, our male neighbour asked my husband to hide a flowering pot-plant from his wife for a few days. I saw it and thought it needed a drink but the water went straight through the pot. It was artificial too! The plant, not the water. :)

@DWDavis He bought it for his wife for her birthday which wasn't for a few days. I guess he thought an artificial one would be less trouble. And you're like me - I always like to know the details. :)

They look so lifelike I've been happy to have them in the window. Perhaps I'll buy some more one day.

@JudyEv you could even have a few you change out, so as to be seasonal, let's see valentines day is coming up, maybe red for a bit, and then something fall like? since it's rolling into fall there soon?

@Jessicalynnt Yes, it will be soon although our autumns aren't usually as colourful as those in the US and Canada.

They actually look quite pretty in your photo . . . but you know them better as you've seen them in person daily. The great thing is you don't have to do a thing to take care of them! My mom had and still has artificial flowers around the house.

@JudyEv We visit a local shop that sells nice (but expensive) silk flowers and decor. The kids and I venture there in December because they have fantastic Christmas tree displays. They don't sell any real plants or flowers there, but they look pretty convincing!
Aldik Home has the best selection of quality silk flowers and plants, silk trees, floral arrangements, Christmas trees and decor in Los Angeles. Shop now.

No they will never take the place of real but unless you want to buy new ones weekly, they are a lovely substitute.

No - no artificial flowers in my home - they remind me of GRAVEYARDS - but yours are nice and do look lifelike

Most the really nice realistic ones I see are quite pricey but I likely never looked at them before when they were very fake looking. The cost could have been the same. The ones on the right look very real.

I am allergic to real flowers so I have always had some fake ones. My one grandson once got some fake bees and put them on the fake flowers. The bees and the flowers looked so real.
