Have you ever been robbed?

No, there are certain things people do that make them a target and I'm not one of them. My father use to have a shop in the heart of the commercial district of Manila and he often asked me to make the bank deposits at a very young age, that's where I learned to be a street wise city rat.

Oh... We will start our travel tomorrow night. The vacation will last about a week. I don't want to comment to your discussion now because I don't want to bring a bad luck

Quite a few years ago, our house was robbed just one week before Christmas. What an awful feeling it was.

Yes, I have been robbed at gunpoint. Years ago, I worked as the night clerk at a Best Western Motel. I worked on Friday and Saturday evenings from 6 pm until the next morning at 6 am. I was allowed to lock the front door at 11 pm and sleep until 5 am, unless someone rang the doorbell or phoned. When someone rang the doorbell, I answered the door, rented the room, if I had one available and then went back to bed. One night, the doorbell rang at about 3 am. I answered the door, letting the guests into the motel lobby. I went behind the desk so I could get the log book and sign them into a room. When I came out from behind the desk with the log, the two guys were pointing pistols at me.... I dropped the log and put my hands up. (IDK what kind of pistols they were, but the barrels looked like I could put a banana into each one of them and have room to spare!) The two guys said they wanted money. It had been a slow night, so there wasn't much money in the till. One of the guys came around the desk and demanded I show him. I popped the drawer in the cash register and let him grab the money out. The second guy said there had to be more money and wanted to know where it was at... I told him that if there were more money I would have already given it to them. The guy that had come behind the desk told me to go back out into the lobby. I got up and started to go to the lobby when I felt him grab the back of my head and slam it into the door sill. I saw him step over me and then passed out. When I came to, I called the police and then the owner of the motel. The owner was across town and asleep when I called him. He beat the police to the motel by almost 10 minutes! SMH! (It makes me wonder why we pay the police in these small towns!) The police never caught the guys that robbed me. The police did say I wasn't the first one who was robbed by these same two guys that night. The guys were driving from the West coast following the Interstate highways, going somewhere East, hitting motels along their route for gas money.

I have been robbed -- but thankfully I wasn't there when it happened.

I have already gone through such situations. Robbers must be in prison.
