This is what helps me be more productive

Working faster means completing more tasks and being more productive. Most days I enjoy my time at the workplace and I like spending some extra time on each task to re-check it and make sure that everything is correct. On the very busy days, I have found that there is only one thing that helps me be more productive and get results quicker. I'm being fully concentrated on my task. I am not chatting with coworkers or doing multiple tasks at the same time. I am focused on the work and let nothing irrelevant occupy my mind. Is it easy for you to concentrate on a specific task until it is completed? For me, it needs some extra effort but it's worth it.

I am retired now, but even when I was a teacher, I needed time to do important work when I was alone and could concentrate better. I still do it. That's a great skill to have.

It actually needs effort to be able to concentrate and get the job done. Some people can manage it better than others. It must have been a valuable skill for a teacher, because you also have to teach the students how to stay focused on their studies.

@besweet True! Most of my students were special needs. Tough job!

@DianneN It's a challenging job in every aspect, teachers contribute in forming other people's characters. I have a client who works with children with special needs and she says that it's a very demanding job. She is a very strong and caring woman.

At my job we have to learn how to multi-task and to do everything super quickly. It gets pretty hectic, but I've learned to focus and get things done as quickly as I can. :-)

Focusing while multi-tasking is difficult. I've done it for a few months and it was taking all of my energy. My mind was exhausted every day during that time period. So I prefer to do one job at a time now. You should take care of yourself and give your mind some time to rest when the job is so demanding.

@missjessicadawn Good suggestion, reading helps in relaxing the mind at the end of a demanding day.

If I really need to accomplish something I have to avoid all distracions which include my phone.

Phone must be banned from the desk when there is work to be done! Otherwise there will be distractions for sure!

I have been centering my focus only on what I am doing. I don't know if it is helping me get more done or not but it is improving the quality of what I am doing at least.

@jhechorain I totally agree. Additionally, I believe it helps us improve our skills gradually and broaden our level of knowledge.

Yes I think that it inspires more productivity that way too.

i usually find it easy to concentrate ony task even if hardwork is required. But i find it difficult when more than one task allotted at a time.

I am not sure if multitasking is very effective in important tasks that need hardwork but some people enjoy it very much. I prefer being focused and get the job done before I continue to the next task, I agree with you.
