What would you write to your future self?

I send emails to myself very often. Usually they serve as reminders for the next day. Sometimes it is just a way of keeping the important files available in case I have to use them and I am not near the office. It would be cool to have a special feature for sending emails to ourselves in the future. What if we could write an email with our New Year's resolutions at the beginning of the year and then choose the receiving date to be on December? I think I would be angry with myself if I hadn't completed the list by the time the email was received! lol What would you write to your future self and what date would you select for delivery date of your email?

At this stage of my life, I would have daily reminders to tell me not to forget to do certain things, like "Did you remember to get the clothes out of the dryer?"

That would be useful for me too! It's pretty much the content of my emails to myself at the moment. But in a form of daily tasks, for home duties and for work as well!

Hmm! Do you think it would be something funny or maybe a joke that makes you laugh? Or a serious letter about yourself and your life goals?

That would be a nice idea. Perhaps there could be a special site that people could use that sends out that email to people to a date they set! I would probably ask a question to myself which was "Did you give up?" And when I go back to it, I can see all that I did in the time up to the letter and see what I actually accomplished.

You know... I have never thought of doing that, but I do like pulling out an old diary to see what I had to say on a given day. I will have to think about this today! It might be fun!

When I am stressed about a situation (personal or work related), I like to write it down. It helps me relax and clear my mind. Sometimes I add goals for the future in those letters. They usually end up at the bottom of a box or thrown away, since their purpose is to help me destress. But I have read a couple of them after a year and it gave me mixed feelings. It seemed like I was getting stressed with no reason after all.

"I hope you got where you wanted to be." Nice and simple, and not disappointing.

The goals are long term most of the time and harder to accomplish. I want to get my driving licence this year! Thank you!
