Tooth Aches

I really don't like to admit it but, I have a tooth ache.
It really does hurt.
The only remedy I can think of is to either get a dentist to pull it or buy a temporary tube of tooth numbing cream.
Oragel is one I bought and it is kind of expensive but it does temporarily numb the pain, but that is only a temporary solution to a permanent tooth ache.
I need to find out what kind of other things I can apply to the painful area to make it not hurt so intensely so I figure one of a few things:
1. regularly rinse with salt water and baking soda.
2. take aspirin every 4 to 6 hours with plenty of water.
3. take a few Tylenol 500 mg tablets.
4. Chew on some gum.
This just in ... My wife just told me she read that coffee should not be drank at all if you have a tooth ache because in my case I have hypertension so the caffeine made the pain a lot worse. I have to go decaffeinated for a while from this point on. ... oh well!
This may sound silly but yesterday, while chewing on Double Bubble bubble gum, that pink gum that is one of the oldest gums on the market, once chewed, covers the exposed nerve that is causing some pain from air getting down to the nerve at the root of my tooth.
The thing I find strange is, such a cheap and inexpensive and simple thing to do is to chew gum.
It is sometimes best to just come to terms with making plans to see a dentist, and the bottom line is, once that tooth is out, the pain will be gone ASAP and forever.

My dentist will do everything he can to save a tooth. If you lose a tooth your other teeth will move around and full in the space. That will probably give you a funny smile, I think its best to see your dentist. Its not cheap but in the long run you will feel better about it.

Sound advice. And you know, I kind of wish the county hospital had a dentistry division but I think it doesn't anymore. That makes my county hospital not very good in my own opinion.
I will have to look around for a dentist in a box and I really don't like this idea a lot.

I can't go to the dentist for a few weeks. So in that time I will be doing anything for the pain. It can make life totally miserable.

If all else fails, try some whiskey! That should really help ease the pain!

I don't like that idea. I would probably get drunk.

While you wait for an appointment have you tried oil of cloves? It may burn your lips a little but it's an old-fashioned remedy that may bring some relief for a while.

I really appreciate this link. I will have to look at it after I finish watching the YouTube Symphony Orchestra from the year 2011. It's funtastic.
