Scientology and Leah Remini

Everyone might be familiar with the book "Dianetics" by L. Ron Hubbard. He was the founder of this 'group'; considered a religion by some and a cult by others. Leah Remini was a member for many years until she realized just what a bunch of nuts these people are that continue the practice of Scientology.
She's been doing a special on the A&E channel regarding the abuses of this group. Everything from physical beatings to concentration-like camps. Since Hubbard died, a man named David Miscavige has taken over and he is what I would call the new Adolph Hitler.
If you want to be part of this 'group', be prepared to shell out thousands of dollars for nothing but lies. If you try to leave the 'organization' and have any family members still there, you can forget it. Your family will be told to sever all ties with you.
It is an outstanding series that uncovers just how vile this 'group' really is.

I saw the opening episode of this series. Scientology has always a powerful presence in LA.

I don't understand how they can get 'religious' standing @JohnRoberts .

Some of the stories from the people that have left are pretty scary @DianneN . Tom Cruise is a Scientologist which surprises me.

@nanette64 I knew he was. That is what I heard broke up his three marriages.

@DianneN Probably. This 'group' literally runs your life. Like a say, a Hitler-run organization.
