Champing!

I think they could have come up with a better word for it, but I like the idea nonetheless.
Champing me think of "Chaffing" or, in best case, some friends frollicking around doing various adventurous activities.
That's neither here nor there.
For 55 GBP (per adult) you can stay in a Church in England. They provide breakfast as well as can arrange touristy adventures. It doesn't say that the Touristy adventures are included in the price, but I would think not.
The 55 GBP goes towards the upkeep of the church, so it's a win - win for everybody.
Oh and these churches aren't newly erected devices either, but come with history that can span as far back as the Saxon period.
What do you think of the price? 55 GBP is 68.09 in USD.

OMG the pictures are gorgeous! I priced it out for my entire family and would pay like 700 GBP for a 4 night stay (of course that doesn't include airfare, food, etc)
Too bad there aren't any close enough to London, as obviously when I go to England I want to visit all the attractions in London!

Noooo! Don't follow the herd! Wander off the beaten track and see the real England. We are so much more than a tower, a clock and a palace in London!

This would just be part of a tour I would go on. I agree with @Poppylicious in saying that I'd prefer to go "off the beaten track" and explore what they don't show the tourists. @katsmeow1213

@Poppylicious I'm not really an "off the beaten track" type of person. I want to see the major attractions like a typical tourist. I've been dreaming of London my whole life.. primarily just to see the clock and don't forget the bridge!

I can respect that. I don't think I'd feel comfortable staying over night in a church either. Well, that is if I was religious. Which I"m not.

@sallypup Religion had never been a part of my upbringing. That isn't to say I hadn't been to church, but it wasn't something forced on me at all. With that being said, I hardly ever went.
Imagine my awkwardness when my (now ex) found ourselves being married in a church.

@ScribbledAdNauseum All the panoply of Catholic voodoo was an integral part of my childhood. All the bloody martyr scenes etc. Now I lean toward the Goddess and wiccanism. And just a reverence for life. I was married in a Lutheran ceremony cause of my hubby's leanings.

@LadyDuck Oh wow!
The church I married in had only just been built (maybe a year prior) and it was only fall. Though it was a bit chilly and it was raining.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I remember the day I got married, it was December 27th, my Church was the oldest Church in Milan, I was freezing during the celebration.

I would love this. One is quite near to me. However, the price is rather steep. Seems a bit extortionate for what it is, but a fabulous idea, nonetheless.

It might just be a bit of extortionists in nature, but if it's going towards upkeep I don't think I'd mind so much.
