Are you ashamed to ask?

January 24, 2017 9:29pm CST
We live in a world where the information is so accelerated, that we often feel somewhat outdated when we aren't on the subject of so much commented matter at the moment, right? Or imagine that you are in a course, and you have a question... But you don't want to ask because this doubt can be too "silly" (this situation has happened to me at school time ). In the two situations I mentioned above, there is the shame of asking... Which can be attributed to several factors. What do you think about it? Has this ever happened to you?

I would never be ashamed to ask a question, though there may be a certain reluctance to show my ignorance. But after I've received the answer I won't be ignorant on any more.

I would not ask unless I felt like I could.

You will get lost if you do not know how to ask and it's applicable in any situation such as directions, lessons etc...

We don't ask for fear of rejection or unwanted answers.

It is better to ask than to pretend that you know then later on get lost...

I believe that's something we all can relate to in one way or another. Myself personally it wasn't so much about a fear of asking for whatever reason as much as it was about not having others focus on me. I certainly never liked to be the focus of others attention. I preferred to just sit quietly and listen. After all when you ask a question does not everyone look at you while you are receiving the answer?!?! As I got older I began growing out of that so to speak. A question that's not been asked surely cannot be answered.. I reckon that leaves one in wonder!! :) xx
