Due to the heavier record snow fall in our area this year elk are coming down to feed closer to town. Here is a video and story about this.

Wow! I hope that they were able to find enough food to keep them going. That is quite a herd!

@ElusiveButterfly .....Land management here is helping but doesn't want them to get in the habit of depending on people for winter food.

@celticeagle OK, we have lots of elk now in the National Park in Gatlinburg.

It is sad but when we used to go up to the mountains a lot I would see them all the time on the side of the road.

@celticeagle That is horrid. The other day I spotted three deer in the sagebrush by our main road. Then just a couple of days ago the deer were standing in front of a little house closer to us. Maybe the people there are feeding them? Not sure where the deer are getting water.
