Last night I could not get to sleep. After tossing and turning for a long while eventually I realized that the reason I could not sleep was because my pillow was uncomfortable. It had been squashed into a pillow case that was a little too small. Once I whipped off the pillowcase all was well and I fell asleep.
Pillows and pillowcases used to come in a standard size but no longer. This morning I checked out pillow sizes. They come in King size, Queen size, Euro size and even travel size. Some are wider than others some are longer and some are square! Over the years I have acquired an assortment of pillows and pillow cases and most of them are too narrow now - they have not worn out, it is just that the pillows have changed.
It is obviously time for me to invest in bigger pillowcases and throw the standard sizes out, either that or tackle the pillows and remove some of the stuffing. Neither actions hold much appeal for me.

I don't think you realized this and I didn't notice it earlier when I commented on your post with the picture of the pillow, but you posted this same post twice. One went through one day and the other the day after. Not sure if you were trying to do it around midnight of mylot time and that's why, or if you didn't see it right away and sent it through again. This one has less comments than the other one.
The other one can be found if you follow the provided link below. I don't think they want us having more than one post of the same topic. Most of us would delete the one with less responses or comments. It would be better for you to do the deleting rather than admin, but you can always pm one of them if you want to know more.

Or custom make your own cases. Probably not appealing either. Any old cases or excess stuffing can be turned into comfy pet beds.

It was good that you were able to catch some sleep. I had a similar problem last night, I also wrote a discussion here in mylot about not being able to sleep immediately. I guess when something is comfortable, our minds go to overdrive and we cant relax even for a little bit.

The pillow isn't a trifle thing indeed.I am particular about what stuffing a pillow is put in.

Although the actions may not hold much appeal, you need a pillow that is comfortable to sleep with.

I find it hard when there is too much choice. I've forever unfolding linen and refolding when it isn't the size I'm looking for.
