Finally got back online.

January 28, 2017 2:24am CST
I arrived at Paphos and was welcomed by the rain, although it has cleared overnight. It was late when I arrived at my accommodation and the reception area was actually closed. A note was left on the door telling me that my key was in the door of room 109. This seemed rather odd, but at least I had access to the room. This meant that I could not acquire the WiFi password until this morning, so I was offline until recently. I expect that several members wondered why I was using my "In Transit" avatar for about 17 hours, but I had no way of changing it. Now I am due to go out and check out the area, while hopefully buying a few essentials for the week.

Ok your key was on the door??? So anyone could have gone in there before you. How strange is that. In the US there is always someone at the desk in motels and the like. 24/7

@garymarsh6 Possibly. Or the late-night travel has left the speel-chekur on his tablet feeling superior

He meant well. Senility is setting in but knowing Barry he was trying out your emotional stability and wanting you screaming and kicking on the floor!

@pgntwo Oh dear, I seem to have written that on several comments as well. Maybe I can persuade Cyprus to rename it.

Well, enjoy your day. Hopefully the weather is cooperating so you won't need an umbrella.

Since they left the key in the door of your room, did you enter to find a virgin waiting there for you on your bed? I ordered one for you, just checking to see if she was delivered. If not, I want a refund.

Now that I am home, it's nice to have my faster internet. Hotel internet is always slow and sporadic for me. I'm spoiled by mine at home. At the last place we arrived after hours and did not have the password. When I called the next morning I was told it was on the router unless the people before me removed it. Well they did, so I wrote it down and taped it on the router for the next person.

The connection here is quite good and since getting the password I have had no issues. However, I have experienced many appalling connections at hotels.

@LadyDuck I suppose that they may have been unsure of my arrival time. If the transfer had involved a full coach and we had waited longer for late passengers I could have arrived an hour or more later.

There is an excellent coffee shop directly across the road, which is likely to see a lot of me. There is also a large supermarket alongside, where I managed to buy a jar of Nescafe Gold Blend. This brand is a little pricey here, but I was still delighted to find it.

@garymarsh6 I often take coffee with me when staying self catering because many places would not have Gold Blend. This time I forgot, but was very lucky.

Oh that is sad, that you cannot readily access the WIFI when you arrived in your room. Usually, the WIFI is written in a little note on the dresser.

@Asylum Me, when there is the internet I want to be here as much as possible. So, when I am done with paper works at the office and while waiting for another batch for auditing, I come here to relax.
