Suddendeath poetry challenge, Liberty!

Welcome to this weekend’s Suddendeath poetry challenge, Liberty! Anyways, rules are as follows, write a poem in any style using the five words that I give you. Write it in one sitting or in under an hour (only to quash your inner editor, rules are loose there). Add it here, OR link in a comment so we can enjoy each other’s' poems. The words can be in any plurality or tense. Today’s words are: rights, freedom, wrong, power, belief My entry is always, below: The lands before have run with blood of those who fought for rights Freedoms of things like race and beliefs for which our warriors did fight. And now I sit and watch as our leader starts taking these things away, While we at home read tweets and posts and to our gods do pray. There is right and there is wrong or so my mama taught, It makes my soul and heart cry out to see it all fall to naught. Power can be a useful tool when in the right hands it rests, But actions speak louder than words which currently do suggest… That we may need to fight again to protect our rights to see America stay as the song says ‘Great Land of Liberty’.

Yanked out from the closet without a thought to rights the long undies shirt sighed for freedom then snuffled disgust when put on wrong side out longing for power she ached in her belief that at least she should have dignity worn right side out: give me that right now, you silly woman!

rights, freedom, wrong, power, belief My belief is that in the hands of the right person our rights will never be compromised. In the hands of the wrong person, our freedom will not be long. Power to the people.

You 'forgot' to change your first sentence. I'll go work on my poem.
