Have You Given Up????

Today is the last day of the first month of a new year!!! Time has certainly went by fast. With a new year, people make new year's resolutions. In the past I have made them, like losing weight, making more money, etc. This year I resolved to make things NOT about me, but others. So, my new year's resolution is to pray for others. A lot of times people on FaceBook or even in writing sites, need others to pray for them for whatever reason. So this year, I'm praying for others. I know that prayer works!! Also, as I'm praying for others, instead of asking for things for myself, I'm going to pray that God sees me through it and pray more of "thanks" than "wants." I'm also trying to keep positive and if I have to take myself out of negative situations, I pray that God will understand that I can't be around or let negativity embrace my life. I'm hoping He will see the situation and will understand that some times you can't be every one's "friend." I'm keeping track daily on my progress of sites of those who I pray for. After some months, I will check in with these people to see how their/friends/family are doing and continue praying for them. If you made new year's resolutions, are you still sticking to them or "Have You Given Up?" ~Peace~ photo courtesy of pixabay

I love your resolution. It is generous and I hope that it will be fullfilled. I will then ask you to pray for my country which has been ravaged my forest fires. The fires are still destroying everything.

@STOUTjodee Thank you so much! There are many people that have lost everything. And this is not over yet.

It seems like you've got the right idea. I need to get in your mind frame.

I guess I went through a period in my life when I lost faith because I thought every "bad" that could happen always happened to me. Once I started turning to my faith, those "bad" things weren't happening, oh, granted I didn't have the "perfect" life, but I had Him to help me go through it. I feel that other people deserve to have "good" things happen to them, so I will pray for them. Most of the time, people will update on what has happened and I've found that the people that I've prayed for the "bad" has turned "good." So I believe prayer works!

I make the same goals every year and lack of progress makes me give up. But having the Fit Bit has made me see my progress so I haven't given up on the health and fitness goal. I still haven't gone back to my writing. I am still questioning whether that is really what I am meant to do. I was passionate about it for so long and somewhere along the way I lost the passion. If not write, then what? I don't know. smh

It feels better when we pray for others rather than always praying for ourselves.

We don't make resolutions. Life is complicated enough, so we just roll with it.
