Ok, watch for that groundhog.
If the lil tyke sees his shadow then spring will be late.
Somehow that doesn't make sense, well, not here anyhow. Today it was at least 70(f), 21.5(c) and tomorrow (Feb 2) it should be even warmer YAY.
Well, there was no prediction for clouds so I'm guessing the groundhog will see his shadow but I'm bettin he won't hide from the sun.
Will the lil tyke see his shadow in your neck of the woods?

@rebelann Acrtually for us Indians it matters little to wait for seasons to change as there is hardly any difference

@rebelann I don't know . . . I think the native plants just dry up anyway - I guess the summer heat just zaps them to dehydration no matter what. Sidenote: Oh my gosh - I can't be here much today . . . I'll get back to everyone on my other post probably tomorrow . . . I can't believe the trouble I'm in from all you guys

That has to be a good thing though, right? I would think that with the right amount of rainfall your trees and brush wouldn't be so dry when your fire season starts. Yeah, I gave those fires CA gets so often a season, but isn't it true that if you get enough rain they won't catch fire so easily?

So the wee tyke saw his shadow there as well as here, looks like the fable has winter coming back but I don't think we'll be getting anymore winter weather down this way, it's going to be in the 70s most of this week and hopefully we won't see anymore really cold days until December.

We actually have sunny skies today what a switch that is. I find the whole groundhog thing so nutty spring will be here when it wants to and I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later.

Yeah, it's always like that @fishtiger58 the weatherman says warm calm days and we get warm windy days or cold windy days, neither is pleasant

I am not sure what happened with the groundhog yesterday. I didn't even check. We are flip flopping again. Our weather was warm yesterday and back down to the high 30's today with a high of 42 degrees. Tomorrow the low will be in the 20's and it will not get above freezing. This lasts all weekend and then going into next week it warms up again with highs in the low 70's on Wednesday and Thursday.

Good grief, that's wayyyyy too cold for me, we're in the 70s in the afternoons here and IF the weatherman can be believed we'll be in the 80s next weekend. It seems to indicate we're in spring already but knowing our desert I'm betting this is what they call an Indian summer and we might just drop back down to the 60s before the equinox.

It's Candlemas here today and our prediction is that the winter is here to stay 40 more days if it rains or snows. It's raining very hard now and the temperature is 33 F. Of course the winter is here to stay, I have never seen Spring before mid March.

Almost everyone I know is Catholic @LadyDuck
I just read a little about it and it turns out that Lutherans, Methodists and Anglicans also celebrate that day, perhaps I have never heard of it because very few people I know ever use candles anymore.

I would think no sane person would.
Butt, either we're in a really warm winter or it's already spring here, it's already in the 70s and next weekend is supposed to be in the 80s.
that's my kinda weather ..... just pray we don't get any more winds, as if that's gonna happen
