When you were growing up did you every have an imaginary friend? I did. My imaginary friend was a big brown bear. He was my constant companion and confidant. He was with me when I was scared, upset, happy, sad, and elated. I love my bear friend. Many child have imaginary friends that they hold near and dear to their heart. As they grow they forget them. I heard somewhere that they are there to help the child feel safe and not alone. I recently read a terrific book called "Sundays at Tiffany's" by James Patterson. It was an excellent book that I would recommend to anyone. I won't tell you anything about it other than this, if you ever had an imaginary friend you will love it. The ending will touch your heart and leave you wanting more. Image from : my imaginary friend | let your imagination run wild! | stallio | Flickr

I will read the book when my husband is through with it, even though I never had an imaginary friend. Sounds good!

They say children with active imaginations tend to have imaginary friends.

I had many imaginary friends when growing up, my first was Donatello from the Ninja Turtles haha! I don't have imaginary friends, but a tactic to help me with writing and seeing how a scene would go in a screenplay is that I do pantomime and visual characters. it helps a lot. I guess having a vivid imagination as a child really helped.

I let my inner child in, when writing, and can picture characters. I guess that can be considered have imaginary friends as an adult.

I that imaginary friends are friends of those with great early imaginations. I was kept so busy by my dog,Robin. and my two cousins that I didn't really have time for any imaginary friends. This author you mention is a great one. I haven't read this book though.

You should look up this book, it is a good one. I do believe that imaginary friends help keep a young one from being lonely.

I think they are there to help you adjust and become strong until you are able to do without them. Ping Pong is an interesting name.
