Long chemo today...

Mom went for chemo today--today was her long (two bag) treatment. Next week, she has a break from chemo, and then I think sometime next week she sees the oncologist to talk about whether or not the chemo is working.
We sat in the far corner of the chemo room today. I didn't' really like it--one couldn't see really what was going on. There was another chair to the side of us where vision was blocked even more, so I guess we had it better.
Mom said today that she noticed more hair coming out in her brush than usual, so I brought her a few volunteer - knitted "beanies" from a basket they have in the room, and she chose a pink one. I bought her one that I am planning to give her on Valentine's Day -- I've been meaning to post a photo of it, but I haven't had the chance to take one, yet.
The nurse told Mom to get a couple of different over-the-counter medications for symptoms that Mom has, and symptoms that she doesn't have (yet). Her friend and I went to the pharmacy in the building and picked those up.
Now, we are home for the evening.

Your mom is a trooper! The thing about losing hair is that you get to wear so many awesome hats and wigs and such. Always get to look fashionable. It is good to look on the bright side of things. I hope the chemo is working out for her.

I hope so, too, @Desirous Dreamer! We're going to see the doctor next week to see how the chemo is working.

There are so many rough spots when you are ill. You are doing a good job helping your mom.

There is a place that depends from the American Cancer Asociation and there you can buy from wigs to whatever you want at a price that has no profit. Check it online. I bought things there when I had chemo and they shipped what I bought to my house in Chile.

You said your mom was going in for chemo before you went to bed last night.
