It goes hand in hand

I'd like to offer a disclaimer straight away. This disclaimer is more of a request and not a statement. Please do me the favor of reading through what I say thoroughly. I will try to present it in the most concise manner I can. I do not mind questions if you are not quite sure what I mean. I often have to ask a question for clarification reasons, and thus do not mind doing the same for others. With the above being said, this discussion is in reference to something that happened to me earlier today. Earlier on this website, to be more specific. I wrote a post (and the subject matter is not relevant) and tagged it accordingly. I made sure my tags were clear and at the end of the discussion I even stated that my "discussion" was based off of something else. I realize (and am happy) that we have a plethora of different nations that represent mylot. Especially at the time of night I choose to post. There are many people from nations with English being their second (or perhaps third) language. I can appreciate that sometimes my writing style can be confusing for non native English speakers. With that being said, the following comment is not addressed (wholeheartedly) to those people. However, I would appreciate if everyone read what I had to say and took it under consideration. Please, no matter where you are in the world, no matter your level of English, read a discussion thoroughly. The discussion I posted previously was written as clearly as I could make it, and tagged the same. I felt, however, that instead of reading what I had to say, those who responded just responded based on what the previous person had stated. So I had three responses that were the same, and none of them in any way relevant to what I had posted within the discussion. This somewhat bothered me. I realize that half the people here use this site as a means to earn money (I'd be a hypocrite if I said I didn't do the same), however that should not in any subtract from adding value to the site. What I mean is, just because you use the site to earn money, doesn't mean you shouldn't read what was written by others and respond accordingly. You should not respond just for the sake of responding. Atleast not on my discussions, where I often try to strike up conversations, or add more value to what has already been said. I do the same with others discussions. Does any of this make sense? Can you appreciate what I am trying to say?

Now you've made me paranoid. I'm 99% sure you're not talking about me, mostly because I always read a post and if I have nothing to say I just 'like' it; any response I make will at least have some relevance to the topic. However, the other 1% is screaming, 'It's you, it's you!' *grin*

hehe, no worries, as it's not you at all. This happened last night when you would have still been in bed.

A lot of times I think people only respond to the title and don't actually read the discussion. If I find that a response is off topic I won't even really bother responding to it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I notice that with a good number of people..

@katsmeow1213 This is true. I have come across another person. This first person though, has irritated me to no end. I think at one time I brought it up to them, and they were upset over it, but kept going on as they were.

Well, in this case, even my title wouldn't have suggested what they left as response. There is one person here who seems to leave a response for the sake of leaving one, and they never go back to continue a conversation. I've learned to either say nothing at all, or say something but expect nothing.

I will try to take it all in. I do sometimes have something to say about some element of what you say and not all.

@ScribbledAdNauseum .....Oh, that is good cause sometimes I wonder if I should have made a comment other than what I did.

@celticeagle I've never had a problem with any of the comments you leave, so no worries.

I understand that completely. I don't always have something to say about an entire discussion either. I suppose I am directing this more to the people who don't seem to read the discussion at all. If you leave a comment, however small, that has atleast one iota to do with what I said? I'm happy. It's just those who seem to respond for the sake of it. I don't always have something to say, so I don't always say something, ya know?

It does make sense, qt least to me. I have not read the post or comments you are referring to, but I know that sometimes, for whatever reason, the responses that people leave can not be responsive to the post. I sometimes think that people can be either in a hurry, or they just don't read the post.

That is sort of what I was alluding to here, those who don't read the post at all. I didn't want to go right out and say it, but it's the truth. That is what irritates me the most. If I go to a discussion and it's long, or I read it and don't have anything of value to say? I don't say anything at all. Like my mama always said, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

I have noticed that some people type the same comments and copy and paste it (exactly the same) in several different discussions. I suppose they think that this is a way to quickly earn money, that of course it's not the case. I usually report those kind of comments.

There's one person in Belgium that does that... That used to be a thing here too, people who just said the same generic thing.
