Oh dear, the sticking plaster (band-aid, elastoplast, sellotape...) has come off, by the looks of it @GoAskAlice @mylotbugs Looks like it started again around "FEBRUARY 4, 2017 7:22PM CST", going back through the most recent discussions list:
This afternoon my brother came over with my two younger nephews, and a bit later, my sis in law's sister came over. She brought some chocolate chip cookies....

Sticking plaster or bad use of backups. Same here on the laptop. I would not expect it to be fixed before tomorrow.

Missing Thumbnails
Same on PC. Both Firefox and Chrome. Have tried clearing cache.

The blue text "Missing Thumbnails" should have been an inserted image but, instead, appears to be a link (which actually works)!

Thumbnails. That's the right word. . First noticed when I added a YouTube link into a response to @xFiacre's post about frosty mornings and late-night revellers. Cache-clearing no workee here either, Chrome on Android.

Oh, I always assume this is just me. I didn't realise it affects everybody else too ...

"always"? . Do you see this often?

@Poppylicious Usually, it most likely is isolated, but if you see the same thing on different devices, or the same one but with different browsers... Stuff happens.

@pgntwo No, I just mean when it does happen. And not necessarily just here.

The lack of images doesn't really affect how I spend my time here. Hopefully, they do get it fixed again. I know it bothers a lot of people.

Part of the joy of myLot us being able to pick an image, or to include a link, and have that appear as the first thing people see when they see your post in the Most Recent Discussions list. Actually, if you change your avatar whilst myLot is in this state, even that disappears...

New user's post - no avatar & no pic thumbnails
@Morleyhunt I guess not ;) . The giveaway is any post by a new user who may have added an avatar pic - the post will have two "broken pic icons" instead of avatar and photo or web link thumbnails. Not the best first impression...
