Do you have self-control?

Are you able to open a box of chocolates, take one and put away the rest for another occasion or are you like me, after one it is another and another and.... I'm not very good with self-control. It is a constant fight to do things that I should do and avoid things that I shouldn't do.
I have to fight to go to bed at a reasonable hour and struggle to get out of bed.
I have to fight to keep up an exercise routine, eat to eat healthy food, ect.
What kind of self-control do you have?

@1hopefulman Yes, sometimes I do, if I feel I ate a bit too much, I skip the chocolate.

How about when you go shopping? Can you limit how much you are going to spend and stick to it?

Well, we don't want the chocolate to go bad and spoil? That would be a waste of money, right?

@1hopefulman Thankfully Vince has never been a great fan of chocolate and now he is Type 2 diabetes he has it even less often. He just has an odd one very occasionally so he is not a real threat to me!

Well, I have self-control too and that's why I don't buy chocolate too often. The danger is when I bring some home. What kind of semi-fast did you do?

@1hopefulman I call it a semi fast because I never eat a heavy dinner anyway. I wrote about it when I started on January 1 and ended on the 31st. Every day I had only breakfast and a light lunch -- nothing else till the next day.

@Linda1234 Thankfully, they say that some chocolates are good for us. So all we have to do is to buy the healthier chocolate.

What about MyLot? Can you say, I'll only be on for 1 hour and then leave? I'm not good at that either and so I will now fight with myself as it is almost midnight and go to bed. Good-night!

I've got used to choklates with less sugar - the ones with 70% cocoa or more, and found out that it is possible to train the taste buds. Now, if I taste one with more sugar, I don't like it.
I think we can be addicted to the sugar, not the cocoa. I usually make my own chokolate with coconut oil and cocoa powder - no sugar..maybe a bit of honey sometimes..

Yes, I like sweet things like pastries and chocolates. Much of the time is is sweet fruit. So, I rarely buy the pastries and chocolates. Good that you enjoy the healthier versions of chocolates.

I also can't control myself well. For example, it is easy for me to be addicted to play the games. And this is why today I dare not to play it since I am afraid I can't control myself well. Perhaps I can play the games freely when I am retired

Yes, but even when retired, like I am, I want to accomplish something worthwhile with my day and not just waste my time playing games, eating chocolate or watching movies. So I need to fight weaknesses and get good self-control. Yes!

Can't you think of any other way to check my self control?

Ok. let's try something else. If you see a cute little puppy, can you resist the urge to pick it up and pat it?
How about, if you see a broken bottle on the sidewalk, can you resist the temptation to take off your shoes and socks and stomp on the broken glass?

@1hopefulman Who would ever get that urge to walk on broken glass? Yes. I suppose I would certainly pick that pup

@1hopefulman might walk on the glass with boots. But without shoes would be plain crazy!!

Stay with buying things that I need and not my wants like cookies on the want list and school supplies on the need list.

You mentioned chocolate. The very thing hardest to have control over. I always say this is the last one, until they are all gone. We are similar because I have to force myself to go to bed and still can't get up!! The biggest problem is walking away from arguments. But I have to now because of my asthma and blood pressure. Fussing triggers those conditions.
