Extremes and flip flop hell

Why must everything be one extreme or the other, the color gray was invented for a reason. The world is of many colors, not just 50 shades of grey. That title has to have come from somewhere and not just about sex, there's much more to life than that. I mean sex is pretty awesome, but there's so much more.
But I digress. One example of extremism that I freaking hate is politics. I mean, all you hear about is right wing, left wing, liberal, conservative and the big bugaboo: the tea party. Whatever happened to a democracy? Majority rules? Take it to the general public? Good hell, it's all about the agenda, propeganda and money.
Extremism leaks into public and private life as well. Especially when it comes to welfare. Food stamps is one you hear about a lot. Yes I will admit it I am on food stamps, but you literally don't get much. It's barely enough to cover the entire month even when you are buying cheaply. Yes, I do cook but with a family of 5, food does not go very far and it's not enough to actually fill a stomach. It's getting worse with even the price of your staples going up, a gallon of milk the cheapest brand is going for $3.29 at the moment. All we can do is just continue to hang in there and hope things get better, but I know the dirty little secret that poor hell just gets passed down through generations. Believe me, I know. I've been poor my entire life. When I was a kid, yes we had our basics covered, but all through the 80s I remember crappy cars, (when we actually had one), dad outta work, and creamed corn and spaghetti-os for dinner. I refuse to raise my kids in that same environment. Keep on keepin on is that mantra.
One other form of extremism that bothers me and hits close to the heart is all the mommy wars and soooo many mommy blogs. We moms are pretty much all the same, get over it. Breast feeding, I didn't my kids, but do or don't, your business, as long as the kids are fed. Homeschool or public school: your choice! Me personally I like my kids in school, gives me the break, my kids are happy making friends, they have for the most part pretty awesome teachers. They would go batcrap crazy being home with me. Every other parenting decision, up to you! I just ask keep it to the children's needs and personalities, don't be the sheltered parent, but don't go to the other extreme and let them raise hell, either.
Bottom line, at the end of the day, we are all human and in this joyride together. The trick is to enjoy it.

Food is expensive I know what you mean and it doesn't really go far sometimes. We don't eat great like steak and seafood a few times a week usually its cheaper things like chicken and pork. We use lots of coupons and try to combine them with sales.
