My dream is to pay off my mortgage, it’s the biggest step you can take towards financial independence.
It’s a big dream but I incorporate things into my daily routine that get me closer to this dream.
I will get there someday.
Here are some things I do every day to get closer to my dream –
1. Get a book at the library written by on the topic of saving money. It’s a free way to get expert advice without learning the hard way.
2. Follow my mentor. In my case, I follow a popular blogger that is an expert on saving money and couponing.
3. Pray to God for your dream to come true but also thank him for all the blessings he has given you.
4. Take some action. For example, you can save tons of money making your own laundry detergent. I am picking up the ingredients on my lunch break and making it later.
5. Give back. I can’t expect financial blessings to rain down upon me without helping those in need. For example, yesterday I put a dollar in the jar at McDonalds for the Ronald McDonald house charity.
What steps do you take to get closer to your dreams every day?

I can definitely understand. You are definitely doing what you can to make sure you reach your goal. Keep it up. I'm sure you'll get there. I want to be able to provide for my family, and I'm just working as hard as I can to make sure that I can provide for them.

Pray and work at it. It is possible. We were able to get ours paid off early because we didn't want to be burdened with it for the original length of the contract, 30 years. We were able to have it paid off in 23 years. Saved 7 years of interest, thank God. The best part of paying it off early is Mike was able to retire a little early thanks to the savings of what we would have paid had we not gotten it paid off early. We just didn't live extravagantly, we lived below our means instead of above. Absolutely no credit cards, all purchases are cash. Prayers that you reach your goals. It is a freeing feeling not to have that burden on you each month. Have a blessed day

Thanks, that is great advice. We have always tried to cut corners and save money. It's finally paying off. We are about two years away from having it paid off. It's going to be very liberating.
