We have what we call a 'pool house' it is a building with two rooms. One room has the pool filter, a toilet and sink. The other room is for storage for things such as the pool cover (in summer) and we have two cabinets with gardening supplies, and other odds and ends.
In winter my husband also stores his hammock there. Last year for his birthday I got him a new, padded hammock. His old one he had for many years and it showed! The new one was dark brown to hide a lot of dirt from him and from Ruby who often shares the hammock with him!
He rolled up the hammock and put it in storage for the winter. He rolled it up, stood it on its end inside of Ruby's small plastic pool - safe right?! He also keeps his bird seed and deer corn in that room. The other day while getting deer corn out he noticed stuffing all over the place. He unrolled his hammock and it looked more like Swiss cheese than a hammock.
He put out several traps and said a few unkind words to our visitor(s). He did manage to catch one but he assumes there was more than one that did the dirty work.
I will be ordering a new hammock and at the end of the season he will store it in the basement.
Mouse - you aren't Mickey or Minnie and we don't like you!

@AbbyGreenhill I am the calming influence in my home. My husband would have been hunting him down for sure talking to himself the whole time.

Aren't mice something? The mouse who did the dirty deed reminds me of that character "Templeton" in the Charlotte's Web story. He was that mouse/rat who hoarded & ate old food and everything in sight. Have you heard of that book and read it? It is a children's story.

What a shame! Mice can do a lot of damage when they put their minds to it.
