Lost Keys

Night before last hubby got up for work and couldn't find his car keys anywhere.
For those of you who don't know, he leaves for work about 1 am.
We spent until 4 am looking everywhere for those keys!!!
Talk about losing sleep when yesterday was an exceedingly busy day away from home for me. I feel bad that I didn't make it in here to myLot at all.
I sure did a lot cleaning in those 3 hours, so it wasn't a total loss other than sleep. Things that have needed to be done. However, well over an hour of that was my husband's mess on his side of the bed. I wasn't happy, not a good mood at all. I know he was distraught over the lost keys and not being able to leave for work, but I was distraught cleaning up his mess.
We use a 33 gallon trash can to put the recyclables in until we take them to the cart. I filled that trash can 3/4th the way up mostly with papers laying around on his side of the bed!! I then put all of his dirty clothes into hampers. He must have 6 loads of clothes to wash! (yes, he does his own as he doesn't like the way I do it). Anyway, I yelled at him that I better not ever see this sh** like this ever again.
He attempted to call his boss telling him that he had no choice but to take a personal day as he couldn't find his keys to get to work. His boss told him that losing his keys doesn't get him a personal day and he better find a way to work. Also for those who don't know, he drives to a town over an hour away to work.
Anyway, he took my van!! So scary that the rod that is going out might have gone completely out somewhere along the way, but he did make it to work and back home with my van.
And, we should have woke up the one granddaughter to ask if she had seen the keys. I asked her after school yesterday. She knew right where they were as she had knocked them off the shelf. They were behind our bowling balls....the ONLY thing in the living room that we didn't move to check behind or under.
Go figure!!

Oh I hate when I lose something like that. My fiance' is always losing the keys. I tell him to place them in the same spot every day and it will become a habit. he will not lose them as often.

@marsha32 Yes, that will do it every time. Doing something out of routine when it comes to placing the keys.

I did that before we moved. I now need a good place here, as I do get random with them. On the other hand, my keys are all on a lanyard together.

Well glad that is all got resolved. That can be so frustrating. At least the keys were found and your hubby got to work. Tell granddaughter the next time she knocks something down to pick it up right away and put it where it belongs.

She needs to do that. If she cannot get to them to pick them up she should tell someone.

I am glad it all worked out but I know how you feel about the cleaning because of looking for something. 6 loads? that would be all my clothes I own!

That was about all of his clothes......at least the ones he wears.....he even dug out things he normally doesn't wear because of not having the others clean. He did wash a lot of them yesterday on his day off.

There's a keychain that links up with a phone app to help you find your lost keys. It also helps you locate your lost phone with the keychain. I've been meaning to track one of these down because we are forever losing both of these!

Glad you were able to find them. But I can imagine it wasn't a very happy house when he was rummaging through everything trying to find them.

Hubby puts his phone, his wallet, his keys and his belt in a drawer all together when they come off. I complain that he washes clothes too often. I guess I should count my blessings.

yes do LOL He got a lot of them washed yesterday...and he called to find out about our state income tax refund, and he called all of the bills and made payment arrangements...and he even unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher and cooked supper. Maybe he was kissing up...or making up for me losing all that sleep to help him look for keys?

I didn't think he had 2 sets, thought when he got the car the guy only gave him one. It turns out he does have 2 sets but they are both on the same ring. Now the second set is in the lock box!
