What May Be Inside of a Live Log? - Well now, we have just gone through guessing what may be inside of a dead log, so now we will think about what might be going on inside of a huge log that is very much alive. This "live log" is really an entire tree. It is a great big pine tree along the pathway in this place called "Grand Oaks." From what I have seen of this place, maybe it should be named "Grand Pines" instead, but possibly the founders and developers had other dreams on their minds at the time of its name selection. When you look at the photograph of this tree you will see that it is full of springtime baby pine trees. Not yet formed pine cones, these little ones are just the starting ot the flowers of the tree. There may be a gazillion of the things hanging onto the branches - all ready to turn into actual pine cones. Anyway, that is what is inside of this live log - not only baby pine trees, but for some of them, anyway, more huge pine trees to be growing inside the bounds of "Grand Oaks." @reskyyandi - There was one big pine tree (a live one) around back that contained some turpentine, too. -Gus-
