Sometimes we have not because we ask not

Here in the US, it's tax time. Yesterday my husband went to have our tax forms filled out and while he was gone, I kept praying, "God, please don't let us have to pay several thousand dollars in taxes this year." All I wanted was to break even and not have to pay anything. Well, my husband got home and yes, we would have to pay around a hundred dollars in state taxes, but that wasn't too bad. I dreaded what he was going to say we owed in federal taxes. He smiled and said we'd actually get a refund of several hundred dollars. A refund! Imagine that! I know God doesn't always bless us financially, but it seemed to me like He was saying, "Why did you settle for just breaking even? A small refund is no big deal for me to handle." Like I said, sometimes we have not because we ask not. God is good.
