Not quite there yet!

Well I guess I'm getting there- Can hear a little better but still feel so tired and groggy. The worst was the sore throat and the plugged ears- plus it was a very different kind of flu for me. It had a mind of it's own and had a very evil intent! Ha! Today, I'm resting (again) and hoping to shake it while I dream of Spring which is really going to be here now in three short weeks- Yay! Although this Winter was a piece of cake- and a chocolate piece of cake for most of us! LOL! Dreaming of Spring? Did you get bitten by those darn flu bugs this winter? This has been the winter of the stuffy nose for me. Usually I get one cold and then I'm done with it. This one has produced so much.....I should own stock in the tissue company.

@Marilynda1225 two weeks is usually it for me...for the entire winter. This year I may have had a total of 14 days without a runny nose.

@Morleyhunt I'm like that too and am suspicious it's either from the milk in my coffee/tea/cereal or mould in the atmosphere!

I love to see the tiny purple crocus show their little heads as a sure sign of Spring- very often in woody areas!

I hope you will get well soon. Luckily the past two years I didn't have any sickness at all, even the cough and colds that is prevalent in our office last month.

@MarymargII Maybe because I take 1000 mg of Ascorbic acid. One 500 mg in the morning , together with my other vitamins like E and fish oil and calcium. Then another set of those vitamins at lunch .

You must have a superior immune system- I always get something at least once a year that's a bad one!

@SIMPLYD you are one smart lady to do that- I take them too so I think you're immune system is better than mine and you probably eat more fish and fruit in the Philippines as it is a tropical country! I should take fish oil though as I take a Vitamin B Complex for energy and stress, Vitamins C and D and I take Biotin and Lysine (cause my hair was getting thin in spots) Seemed to help a bit!

What kind of flu was it- like a cold? Or a stomach virus?

I have been lucky this year and missed the flu, knock on wood. Perhaps the flu shot helped. Glad you are beginning to feel better.

@MarymargII It's been windy since Friday and in the low 70sF. The winds will end tonight. You should see my hair! Lol! Still, it's best to get the flu shot. I can't believe how long you've been ill! Keep getting better.

@DianneN Thanks and I am actually getting better this week- it's been about three full weeks where it hardly let up- so glad to feel less tired, etc. 70 degrees is perfect to me- not too hot- You need hotter though for swimming in the ocean- ha!

Hope your weather is great down there- heard it's a little cooler than usual- is that right? Doctor said the flu shot wouldn't have helped with this as it was a different strain- oh well- still will get the shot next year though.

It is going to be 32C here today - a nice summer's day. Keep fighting that cold - maybe chocolate cake would help - or even stodge.

No I don't and for that, I thank my mom. I have never had the flu nor has she. Her entire family came through the epidemic after World War 1 without getting it. I do however have allergies and they are terrible this year, so warm that the pollen is high all the time.

That can be just as aggravating as I do get a touch of it in the early Fall- and my husband used to suffer greatly from allergies- but yes, you must have a great immune system there,

Luckily I have had a couple of minor colds and that is all! Hope you are feeling better soon. We have had a pretty mild winter in Alberta as well. Laundry is swinging in the breeze and it is +7C today.
