Family Meetings-- Silly or Valid? / myLot

I like to be in the know. I like to know what is expected of me too. And, I try to live by the golden rule and treat others as I would like to be treated. So, occasionally, if I have learned something valid to my family or I think we need to change our schedule or way of doing things in some way I call a family meeting. My grandson gives me the sticko look and its hard to pin him down for one. I am wondering what you folks think. Is a family meeting occasionally(maybe once ever three or four months) a bad thing or do you like to be aware too?

We don't have family meetings but get togethers occasionally yes.

I meant family meetings, not gatherings. Like scheduling the kids chores and discussing it. That sort of thing.

We never had family meetings when I lived with my parents but I have seen them on tv shows.

Not really fond of them but sometimes I have to attend family gatherings. Almost everyone would be there and they love to ask. My aunts sometimes ignored that some questions make me feel uncomfortable or annoyed. I tend to find a sanctuary when I attended one.

That's good. I always hated all the attention. I was talking about family meetings in a household though, not family gatherings.
