Junk Foods make for a Trashy Brain

The thing is, I read once, many decades ago, I think it was from Psychology Today but don't quote me on this, it was some publication along the lines of psychology and it says something to the effect that, "People who get involved with criminal activity and anti-social behavior often are junk food junkies." That said, it would be irresponsible for me to say that this is a true fact but below is a link to an article by perhaps a more informed person online who can give testimony to the probability that people who eat a trashy junk food diet on a regular basis tend to have criminal tendencies from I guess one might say, malnutrition of the mind. I went online to Google and typed in the following text: junk food linked to criminal behavior, and came up with the following results below: From Psychology Today online : Diet and Violence:
Does diet affect our criminal behavior?

I know a quote and that says "you're what you eat" and I thinks it's true because the food we eat have a direct impact on our brain development. If we eat real food like fruits and vegetables daily then we would be a happy person, free from all the recurring mood swings and laziness.

@Slayqueen , That is very true and sad to say most people are just plain lazy.

@lookatdesktop yes you're right and maybe people won't even come to your store to buy fresh food because, nowadays, people don't have time to cook and junk food is easily available so, they'll prefer that over real food. That is the major reason behind all this. What people don't understand is that they're compromising with their health.

I absolutely hate junk food. The last time I had it was last Easter in Washington. I took one mouthful and thought God it has all come flying back why I never eat this muck! I much prefer home cooked food or food in proper restaurants. Burgers and hotdogs taste awful to me. You can almost feel how bad they are for you as soon as you have eaten them. Bloated and sluggish!

I still eat burgers but made at home and limit the amount of meat and try to have small ones, not mega burgers with 4 patties and 4 cheese and extra sauce. Yuck.

@garymarsh6 Yes, they do nickname such burgers and they do in fact sell burgers that are called half pounders or Killer Burgers.
Take a look at the 17 burgers Time deemed the most influential on the burger industry and the world at large.

I don't think diet contributes to criminal behavior. It is a variety of factors.

I did not mean to say that it was the only contributor to bad behavior and you have made a valid point in your response. Thanks.

I have read about the connection between junk food and bad health and behaviour, so it ani't too surprising there are other effects. Who knew I was doing myself a favour when I cut way back on fast food all those years ago!

I think mood can be affected by what we eat and if we do not hold to the old saying that variety is the spice of life, but instead stick to bad habits on a day by day basis, we are doomed to failure.

@lookatdesktop I think junk food apeals to our basic lazy nature. For little effort we eat a lot of things and fail to burn it off, as nature intended

I also prefer home cooked meals balanced well with less meat but more vegetables and less bread but more fruit. You don't get that choice at fast food places. It's more or less sugar, grease, and carbs.

Some might go so far as to say that a balanced diet makes for a balanced mental state. At least for people with blood sugar issues, too much high fructose corn syrup is a definite health problem for America.

I did not say this was a fact, but it is interesting to know what psychologists think about it. I don't have a criminal mind in that I don't behave like a criminal but I think I could write a book about criminal behavior as the subject of a novel and I am guilty of eating my fair share of burgers, fries, and a chocolate shake.

OMG! I think I can be a criminal.
