Day 177 Proverbs 18:16 Proverbs 18:16 A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men. So often in life a person has this idea that he doesn’t have anything to give that will make a difference to the world around him. Yet, one thoughtful act can change the course of a person’s life. Solomon saw gifts, not as something bought, but what a person could do, and it was that which brought people before great men. He noted one such person who saved a city, yet the person was forgotten. Ecclesiastes 9:14 There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it: 15 Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man. (KJV) It isn’t who you are that makes you great, but what you can do, and though nobody remembers what you did, God remembers. Everyone has something to give. God will not forget the smallest act of kindness, but will reward that person for his unselfish act. When you believe you have nothing to give, God will show you that you do. Don’t be afraid to speak up or do something someone else thought to be impossible. Your gift could save a person’s life, or change the way men think and act. Let’s pray: Father, take away my fear that I have nothing to give. Show me you have put the impossible in me to make things possible. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
