Have You Ever Visited The Corn Palace?

When my brother was planning this big camping trip for our family, several years ago, one of the places he wanted to visit was the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota. So, yes, we visited the Corn Palace. It’s quite an interesting place to visit. Every year, local artists construct huge murals out of corn to decorate the walls of the Mitchell Corn Palace. After the harvest is over, the town’s people allow pigeons and squirrels to devour the murals so that they can make room for next year’s exhibits. Our camping trip was 5 and 1/2 weeks long. We traveled over 5000 miles and visited 17 states and saw many interesting places, especially in South Dakota. The Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Chief Crazy Horse site, the Black Hills, Wall Drug, Custer State Park and many other places in South Dakota and all the other states. It was a wonderful trip for our family. My children have good memories of this trip. We took the northern route out to South Dakota and the southern route back home to Virginia.

It's a very interesting place to visit. Those murals that you see on the outside of the building are made of corn.
