Self Driving Cars

People have seen the freeways of California when it can take hours to get home from work. I am always looking at solutions and many are aware from my posts that several friends are using the train.
Now there might be another way by 2050. There could be a self driving car lane that will be going really fast 120 mile per hour. I think if you can find the money to make the road, then people will spend money on the car in California. What do you think of this idea?

I look for trouble on self driving cars as systems go haywire or they get maliciously hacked.

I'm not sure they would work in the entire state. I have been watching them in Sunnyvale for years and they are doing well there. Many years ago considered moving there, as I did a job interview in that area.

@LoriAMoore I realize many people would prefer to drive. This state is looking more ways to solve the traffic congestion, as there are many hours its a good plan to avoid the freeway.

This is something that would be cool. But if it takes until 2050 for it to come out and be popular I will be too old to enjoy it.

I think many of us might not be able to use it, if it really takes that long. Sunnyvale, Ca has quite a few cars on the road and there have been only a few accidents. They have been minor.

I'm not sure, if its the answer. There are a lot of rich people in this state. I'm not sure how expensive the cars would be and how many middle class could afford them.
