Characters and Voices

This afternoon I was happy to watch Disney's Moana an animated movie with my six year old granddaughter.
I have noticed that most Disney animated movies that the looks and/or gestures of the animated characters match the looks and/or the gestures the voice actors.
For instance the character Maui is voice acted by the actor and WWF wrestler Dwayne Johnson, The Rock. Maui is large and fat. Dwayne is large but not fat. However if you see his facial gestures, movements, eyes and eye brows are like Dwaynes. 
Some of the wording sounds like something Dwayne would say,lol
The voice part of Moana is played by Auli'i Cravalho which I am not too familiar with. I Googled her to see that facially she kinda' looks like the animated character she portrayed.

I am not familar with the voice behind of these cartoon movies. I just know that Nicolas Cage's voice was available in the cartoon movie called The Croods. Some people are very mean to say that that movie is Nicolas Cage's best movie during the recent years.

I think it is a upgrade in the animation. Interesting how such things change.

It's easier that way, so the animator have something as reference when drawing. Things happen on the contrary in anime industry. They have their own set of voice actors that can fit into any character imaginable.

I like watching animated too and love trying to figure out whose voice that is.
