For those of you in snow covered areas like me, I'm sure it sounds bizarre to see this topic come up. But next month is April and usually, around here, that's when it begins to warm up. With the crazy weather patterns we've had in the last few years, I can't take anything for granted. I never know when it's going to get HOT!
I spent last summer here in my apartment with no air conditioning and it just about killed me. So this year I need to find an air conditioner. I have to find our maintenance guy to ask him where I can find one and which one to buy that fits our windows. They have some pretty specific regulations for our windows.
Winter has been wonderful here. No lack of heat. I'm very glad they let us regulate our own apartment heat. The hallway is always so hot, and I tend to like my apartment a little cooler. If I sit by the windows, I can feel a slight draft and right now, that's really cold!
But I need to plan ahead! Find an air conditioner and let the maintenance guy come and install it for me so I can live comfortably through the summer.

My house hasn't gone through too much oil this year thankfully as I have really needed to save more money this year to pay taxes. How have you been? @MarshaMusselman was wondering about you yesterday. I am so glad to see this post from you today.

Feels so good to have been missed. I'm dealing with some severe sleep problems but I'm working around them the best I can. I know from my old house how difficult winter was with oil heat. That's one thing I don't miss but I do understand. We did have a good winter. Of course, a big storm is predicted for Tuesday. Sounds like a lot of snow and this weekend has been VERY cold. But spring is almost here, so I'm sure this is going to be the last bit of snow for us.

I hope you can get AC before it gets too hot. Here there's no way I could go without AC. I am pretty sure I would literally die.

Well, I survived one summer with no a/c and hopefully that will be the only one. I can't wait to get my unit so I can have a comfortable summer.

I know the feeling. I had central air in my old house and I do miss that. I'm surprised I got through last summer with no a/c. There were some brutal nights where I couldn't sleep because I was just too, too hot. So I really do hope I can find the right a/c soon.

It's no fun being hot in the summer.

Although we don't have air conditioning, we do have an attic fan that helps remove a good part of the heat that comes in during the daytime hours. My husband would love a/c, but I'd be wearing a sweater indoors through the summer if and when we got one, unless I could get him to just put it on a little until the weather got unbearable. Even without air I sleep with a sheet, comforter and sometimes another blanket in the summer until it gets crazy. I do switch my pj's around and wear a short sleeved nightgown when it's pleasant and can always switch to pj pants if I'm chilly and he's hot.

My husband used to like it freezing cold in the house in summer. For me in this little place, I'm sure a small amount of cold air will suffice. They don't allow us to have air conditioners in our bedrooms (not sure why), so I might have to make things colder or put a fan in the hallway to move the cold air around the corner to my bedroom at night. I won't want to pay a huge bill at the end of summer, so I really won't be using it more than I need to!
