CAUGHT IN THE LIGHTS.

I haven't gone to a movie theater for sometime now , but I recall when I was a regular patron there how annoying it was when members of the audience would rise hastily and hurry to the exit before the show is properly ended. It seems as if they are afraid of being seen there when the lights go on. Not that I enjoy sitting through endless credits rolling on the screen - but why the mad rush ? Have you noticed this?

I am always one of those who want to leave early and my boyfriend wants to stay until some people leave to avoid the crowded exit. He wins because his was works better.

@Kandae11 Yes people can be very impatient. I discovered that waiting for a while is actually a good idea, we get to read the credits and learn more about the movie that we just watched.

That is definitely a good reason to stay. Most times I choose the front row in the balcony section or a seat at the end of the row in order to avoid people from the other rows standing in front of me or stepping over me to get out.

When I was very much younger at the end of the film they used to play the National Anthem and everyone stood for that before leaving. I don't think they even play it these days at the cinema.

I don't remember that happening - but it is very interesting. What I do know is that the National Anthem is played before the start of important games.

Yes, I also notice that there are some incorrigible souls in theaters who would get up prior to finishing of movie. They disturb others. I wonder if they were in a hurry to leave, they should not have come to theater to watch movie.

@Kandae11 Yes, many people avoid going for this reason to theater. Some have arranged home theaters in their homes and they watch movies in comfort of their homes.

That is one of the reasons why many are opting to watch movies in the comfort of their homes.

I like to read the credits. Some people may have to rush to go out to dinner, get home to the babysitter, or rush to beat the traffic.

Beating the traffic could be one good reason.

Maybe their parking tickets are due to expire.

Well they should have planned for that. There are usually two showings of a double - at 4 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. - therefore patrons would have some idea of the length of time they would be in the cinema.

@Kandae11 I agree really but I'm always trying to make excuses for people.

Maybe to conceal themselves because others might see them together if they are lovers? Hahaha.

Lol! In the Philippines the only reason for that is they always want to get out first as if the door will banished! Lol! Funny but it's true. Even when they go out in an airplane and train stations lots of Filipino always headed to the door even before the trains stop and open it's window. Silly!

I also have not been to a movie in a long time and do remember people wanting to rush out after the movie ended and then people were trying to get out fast and would push each other. It is best to sit and wait till it thins out and not crowded.

Me too--it gives you time to digest what you have just seen.
