A lovely sunny day despite the gentle breeze outside. I went to the community centre to watch a short talk on some adult learning courses that are available on subjects ranging from basic computer use to advanced calligraphy. Many of the more interesting courses that might have been nice for me are unfortunately rather expensive, even allowing for reduced fees for the unemployed but it was nice to see what is on offer. After the talk I walked to the food bank centre across the street from the community centre and picked up food supplies for the remainder of the month. Later, I went to the bus station to pick up a monthly bus ticket to cover my travel up to the Easter period. Arthur Chappell

Discounted bus season tickets are great if you have the cash flow to get one. Individual fares are now so expensive that it seems all passengers are being pushed in the direction of daily, weekly, monthly or longer tickets. Bus companies now seem to model themselves on the London Underground.

@arthurchappell Although it does seem.to have glitches and restrictions. Here in Bournemouth a walleted weekly ticket for the Yellow Buses is £17 but slightly cheaper if done on a smartcard.
