Do You Recycle / Upcycle?

In my town, we are required to recycle. We have one large bin for garbage, and one for recyclables-glass, cans, and paper. Beside the normal household recyclables that get tossed in the bin, i have found other ways to recycle. I make rag rugs from old t shirts . The one pictured was made by crocheting with cotton threads around t shirt material. I scored a bunch of cones of thick threads from a lady for free. She used to do some kind of weaving. Not as thick as yarn, but pretty strong and worked out nicely for this rug. I have made totes from cutting up plastic shopping bags into stripes, then crochet with the strips to make the bag. Each one can use up 100 plastic bags easily. I reuse shipping boxes, and also reuse jars to store my buttons etc in. What ways do you recycle or upcycle?

We have recycle bins all over here in Jerusalem. We have a bin for plastic bottles and another bin for papers. The bin for plastics there are times where you can put batteries too. There is a recycling factory here too but have never been there.

I love rag rugs and have thought of making one, but so far nothing has happened.
