But you were my favorite!"
That is what a high school girl said to my son after watching the performance of The Little Mermaid last night.
It was an amazing performance! The work that went into it.. all the costumes and props and hours of rehearsal, it all paid off beautifully. It was absolutely fantastic!
And my boy brought down the house! He came out as Chef Louis and sung "Les Poissons" in a French accent, but he kept changing his voice, he'd go really really high, then back to his usual low.. just to get some laughs. After his song he chased Sebastian around the stage, and he wiggled his big butt at the audience..
Everyone was laughing so hard the entire time.. some were in tears.
Afterwards I had everyone telling me how good he was, and that he almost made them wet themselves..
You should also understand that this boy is typically the most serious child you'll ever meet. He's angry, moody, but also extremely focused on whatever he's doing at the moment, whether it be band, soccer, or performing...
So to see him up there trying to make you laugh.. it's a real treat for anyone who only sees his serious side..
All of the other kids did an amazing job as well... I loved every minute of the show!
I get to go see it again tonight! I also bought the DVD so I can see it anytime I want!

That girl is one of my son's best friends.. and she is so extremely talented! Her Ursula was one of the best characters in the show!
The second night performance was even better than the first, although my son had slightly less energy, but I think that worked even better for him.. he was trying too hard on night one.

@DianneN We weren't allowed to take videos, copyright laws because it's a Disney production.
