Not sure whether she thinks she is a ninja cat.... or whether she is just doing her keep-fit routine so that she in shape for the summer holidays... Chicca loves to be perched on her back feet and play with anything in sight and today she just sat as though she was boxing with an invisible partner... She usually plays with her ping-pong balls but today is more into martial arts it seems Do your cats go on holiday with you? She will stay at home when I go on mine in late summer and a friend who lives nearby will come and feed her. She doesn't know about that yet though...

All cats seem to have illusions of being a ninja.

@mysdianait Maybe not, but would have demonstrated exceptional stealth and agility.

When we go on holidays the cats stay home and the neighbor comes in and takes care of them. That is a sweet picture!

I think that is the best arrangement as they then stay in their own environment I have so many pics of her now but that one today is so rare

Hubby is supposed to have a coworker come and feed our pets and walk the dog while we're away in April.. but since our dog has stranger aggression, I told hubby the coworker needs to come over so the dog can get warmed up to him. So far that hasn't happened. We're going to have to get the guy over for a few visits before our vacation comes up.. and it's only about 3 weeks away.

Oh gosh yes, you absolutely must get him to meet the dog and become friendly with it or there could be big problems while you are away indeed.

@katsmeow1213 Is he at least a dog lover?

@mysdianait he came over once, but that was awhile ago, and all he did was walk in and stand there for a minute. It made me nervous. The dog didn't do anything, but you could tell there was anxiety there, and I got anxious too.

We have a Dog and we cannot go on Holiday yet because of trying to get somewhere where we can go with him. Love the photo of the Cat and donĀ“t tell her you are going on Holidays just yet.

Many places here don't allow pets as so many people are allergic to them. In fact the place where I go doesn't have them there eother. No I won't tell her until it's almost time to go which is not until September

I've never seen a cat in that position... And you're able to take a picture, so she seems to stay in that position for some time... And no, we don't take cats on holidays with us...

Yes once she gets in that position she stays for a few minutes each time. She now has mastered the balls too and brings them back to me to throw them again, as though she was a dog - but she does it with her paws Someone comes in a nd feeds them when you are away too?

Many hotels here don't allow pets inside now as many people are allergic to them but I prefer her to stay at home where she is familar with the surroundings. Maybe a dog adapts better ti new places?

She looks adorable in the picture! I bet she is fun to watch! Pendragon used to love to "hide" and commit a "sneak attack" when we walked by. However, he was so small and clumsy and his depth perception was so bad that he always missed by a lot. It was hysterical, because he always looked about as surprised that he missed as we would have looked if he had actually succeeded! He is older now (I can't believe he is such an old man), but he finally has perfected his pouncing technique!

Oh yes! That pouncing act is something really funny. Chicca does that too I have to be careful as I never know where she will be waiting next and I don't want a fall. So far so good! What an aristocratic name he has!

My first kitty used to sit like yours and bat at any kind of string or belt that was hanging for what seemed like hours but once she reached 10 yrs old she didn't sit like that anymore.

She sits like that to play with a bunch of feathers that my friend brought for her - and she gets really huge big black eyes when she plays with those. My previous cats never sat like that ever. She's fun to watch when she sits like that to watch television when something catches her attention too. After 10 years old she stopped playing too?

@rebelann I don't remember when my others started sleeping more. I do remember them being very playful when we, (me and my son) arrived home from work but that was probably because they had slep most of the day.

Poor Chicca, she will not be happy. When my neighbors go on holiday Willy stays at home, this is the time he comes inside our house through the window all the time. I know he searches to see if his humans are in our house.

Hmm... tai chi? Or maybe that's a little too slow... can't really tell her speed from the picture. Anyway, cats? No... we are not cat people here. And we don't really go on any lengthy vacations so the dog is never alone for long.

@mysdianait I'm not really familiar with martial arts either. But I believe the one I've seen sometimes (back in college, there were sometimes groups of people - including old people - assembled somewhere on campus doing this slow, graceful thing... it's like an exercise) is the one they call tai chi.
