1952 – Black Cat Mysteries – Spoiler alerts Quite a grim story this one, with an entirely doomed cast of characters. Two explorers get lost in a South American desert while looking for the remnants of a lost city civilization. They find it, thinking themselves safe but that is when their troubles really start. The tribesmen that find them are zombies who think they can end their curse for wandering the desert forever through human sacrifice. They throw the explorers into a pit full of sharp knives, killing them both horribly. The tribesmen then appeal to their god to release them, but the god demands that they bury the men in the tribal burial ground. Unfortunately, the zombie-men see it s taboo to put murder victims in their ancestral graveyard, so the god insists their eternal march continues. The two dead explorers are now seen marching with them too. The only villain here is the ungrateful god who condemns them all – the zombies are trapped by their principled beliefs in an evil god who makes them suffer anyway. Arthur Chappell

Talk about a cruel god! The god had them both ways. He knew they wouldn't break taboo and if they did, they were just as doomed.
