Firstly, today would have been my dad's birthday, so he is on my mind a lot. He would have been 74 today, but we lost him at age 53 to cancer. It's been crazy busy in my life and I just have not been to myLot at all in days now. I don't like when that happens. So many things going on. A day out of town, not babysitting but being the ride to get grandchildren to school and back home again. Church activities---bowling--the usual. My youngest about had a breakdown to end her in the psych ward at the hospital....after hours of counseling and a safety plan etc, she is moving out of where she is and back into our house for now. She's been living with the mother of the baby's father, and he's been there too. But, he's not been nice to her--he's not there when she needs him to help with the baby etc. Just keep her and the situation in your thoughts and prayers please. It's going to be a big adjustment for all, but has to be for my daughter's emotional health. I guess I will call it good for today's log. I hope all is well with you.

@Tina30219 They have a safety plan with family preservation to share custody...supposed to be 3 days with him and 3 days with her...which is just stupid in my opinion. SO far he's kept bringing her back, but now he has her for the weekend and his mom is off work so she is there to help him with her.

One day at a time, that is all we can do, or ask for.

I hope you get back in more often as things settle down. It does seem like your daughter's situation would be very hard on her. I am glad you have room for her.

Hope things are better for you now. Has he improved any or is he just a lost cause?

If you are referring to the father of the baby, it's in their safety plan that they be nice to each other....He's texted her a couple of things he shouldn't have and those are documented. Personally I hope he keeps it up then maybe this whole 50/50 custody thing will go away.

I lost my father when he was only 54 to a heart attack. It is very difficult to lose our fathers so young. He only met 3 of my 10 kids. I named #3 after him. I can still see him in my mind him showing that little guy off all over to everybody when we visited him for the last time. That is the best memory I have, because he was so happy. We saw him that Thanksgiving and lost him the day before Christmas. We were getting ready to go see him for Christmas (we were living in another state at that time),

I still can't believe you have 10 children....although one homeschool family here has at least 13....haven't seen them in awhile so not sure if she's finally reached menopause or not....they are my age. My oldest daughter is pregnant with #6.

@marsha32 That is wonderful, I bet you are very proud of her. We have not started that part of our lives with grandkids. But I hope to see several of mine have 6+ kids. I still remember my father saying to me that he was so proud of what I had. At the time I really did not understand what he was talking about. All I had done was find a great guy and have a couple kids. But as my kids get older, I know how important it is to do that very thing. I hope they find a great person to spend their lives with as well.

@mom210 There is the issue, finding someone to actually spend the rest of their lives with. So far of my 4 children, it's only my middle daughter who has been fortunate to find a life partner.....in fact, I envy their relationship myself.

I hope everything will be okay with your daughter. It is a sad day for you to think of your father. I can relate to that as I missed my late mother. Take care of yourself.
