The man castrated by a tree

@WorDazza this one’s for you! I read this story in the paper a few months ago. A man from Hull was jailed for violently attacking his friend and taking him hostage in an attempt to blackmail him. While released on bail he was driving with passengers when he crashed into another car, sped off without stopping, crashed into a second car coming the opposite way, attempted a dangerous overtake but hit a lamppost and flipped his own car, landing on the verge. A broken tree branch came through the windscreen and pierced his groin, and when he pulled it out he found his testicles dangling from the end. ‘Serve him right!’ you may well cry. He was incredibly lucky that neither he nor his passengers nor any of the occupants of the other vehicles was seriously injured or killed. What really made me laugh though was the comments of his lawyer, who said that in mitigation, his behaviour had been much improved since the accident. Well Duh! That is what happens – that’s the reason humans have been castrating their male domestic animals for millennia! Just a bit of a shame the same treatment can’t be deliberately applied to one or two other persistently violent criminals. Again I don't really have an appropriate photo so here are some pretty tree branches. All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2017.

For once I'm glad you don't have an appropriate photo!!! "He was incredibly lucky that neither he nor his passengers nor any of the occupants of the other vehicles was seriously injured or killed." - I think a male and a female definition of serious injury may well differ!!!

I did think that as I was writing it. What I really meant was 'He was incredibly lucky that he wasn't killed and neither his passengers nor any of the occupants of the other vehicles was seriously injured or killed' but that didn't read so well.

@Fleura I'll let you off. I've tried 1/2 a dozen ways of writing that and it always turns out a bit clunky.

@xFiacre Having just read Hemingway's 'Fiesta: The Sun Also Rises' I can see where Joey was coming from.

You write for @WorDazza little did you know it WAS him! He has had it mounted on a chain and wears it proudly around his neck!

I should imagine appropriate photos are few and far between!

Yes there can't be many of that sort of 'fruit' - I certainly don't have any!

What a horrible man! And what a blessing that no others were killed as he drove so dangerously. His attorney is as ridiculous as this man is. The truth is that the Hand of God came down and exacted punishment. I hope that despicable man learned at least one lesson from all of that.

If only punishment was so immediate in all cases!

@Fleura Crime just might come to a screeching halt in that case!

That is so... All I can say karma came knocking too soon. The broken tree branch must be rolling to where ever he is now. The photo is pretty. Do you mind telling me what kind of tree is it if you know? Thank you!

Yes, I can think of more appropriate situations that this would suit better.

I'm appalled at the lack of sympathy for the seriously injured here. It must have been terribly traumatic for that tree to suddenly lose a limb in this way...

You're right, that poor tree was just an innocent bystander, as so often happens, just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
