The sofas are finished. I´ll be able to sit there now.

Today, late in the evening, finally the men came to put the legs in the sofas.
I must say they did a very good job although they said they would come in the morning and kept me waiting all day.
The height is perfect now. Everything will be changed. But now I have discovered that the fabric of the cushions is quite dirty.
I will not upholster them though. To do that means to spend a kind of money I don´t have.
My daughter Claudia bought a steam machine that probably will help me clean the fabrics. I´ll see what I can do.
The most important thing is that not only me but my friends will be able to get up easily from the sofas when they come for a visit. I have gained my living room again.

I hope so. Anyway I have some colorful carpets to place over the cushions.

@marguicha slipcovers aren't ideal but they are cheaper than reupholstering everything.

@NJChicaa I will try to clean them with a steam devise. I promised some 55 years ago never to use aprons or to cover my furniture.

Alleluia! it's good to have a functional furniture. I sit on hard chairs without upholstery now as I have a back problem. My hubby used to be an upholsterer and he can really plump up a sofa. Yes, a steam cleaning will be enough.

I don´t want a house that looks like a museum either. I like a comfortable house that my friends and family like.
