Diary Saturday 1st April 2017
A whole new month, starting with All Fool’s Day, which certainly applies to me any day. T S Eliot called April ‘The Cruellest month’ in The Waste Land poem, probably for its association with the crucifixion, but April is generally a good month for me with a big annual science fiction convention in its midst.
The pressures imposed by my welfare officers are relaxed for a while though I still have some call centre employment pressure to face up to on Wednesday.
I’m on a very restricted budget and just did a little hopping this afternoon, paying off my council tax bill for the month and used the library for a while. I did some of my online job searching and started packing for the convention, ready for departure on the 12th April.
Diary Sunday 2nd April 2017
Laundry, job searching, sunshine, a little revision for call centre vacancy tests I face later in the week.
I started taking photos of the front covers of books I have read for use in my reviews on here and elsewhere too.
Diary Monday 3rd April 2017
Indoor job searching all day virtually, all online all useless.
I got a letter from my internet / e-mail provider informing me that they are discontinuing the provision of the Freeserve e-mail addresses at the end of May. I have used Freeserve for over a decade now.
As I’m staying in a hostel in a few weeks I need a padlock to protect my more valuable things in storage lockers. I dug out my padlocks and then had to go through all my keys to find the ones that match it which took forever.

Aoril is cruel too I think because of it's unexpected bad weather. You should perhaps put a small piece of sticky tape on the kids to your padlocks and next time you will know them right away.

@arthurchappell ......But why spend an eternity looking for their keys when they are put into service again?

@celticeagle after a while it is easy to forget which keys are for what - knew I had them - just had to try lots of keys until I got the right ones

Freeserve?! Wowsers! I remember them. Who did they become? I got really angry with them on the phone once, way back in 2004 or thereabouts because they wouldn't talk to me about my absent brother's internet account, but admitted they would talk to anybody with a male voice as long as they knew the information I knew ... like the password!! *sigh*
Does hopping help when you're on a restricted budget?
Sorry, couldn't resist ... *cheeky grin*

If you don't get the call centre job is the course/test result a transferable qualification that could be used to help you get something better in the future?

@asfarasiknow no, the course criteria is useless beyond that one company - that annoyed me in itself

Well at least you've got the convention to look forward to. Did freeserve give you any reason to discontinue their email? Or are they just phasing it out?
