Some writers and journalists may not even know much about the person or persons they're writing about but will do so because the story may generate lots of views because of the "names" used. If one looks at the sources then they'll know that what is being said may just be a bait. A lot of journalists as well as writers may use bait titles in order to get readers to click on the articles. Sometimes the articles aren't even about what the titles show.
Popular names may be used in order to gain the attention of others and with all of "the competition" some will try to go after certain writers. Yes, some use bait titles in order to gain views, perhaps unethical but not against the law. There are some who are desperate for views. If writers and journalists are more concerned about the money then they'll do what it takes to gain as many views. Really writing is about the passion.
Not knocking the ones who use such tactics but sometimes the "journalists" can go overboard with using bait titles. If the titles have nothing to do with the article or post some readers may become irritated and not return. There has to be some information that lines up with the title. With all of the competition some writers may be targeted by other journalists or writers. Some are even harassed and will receive threats. Some will even follow certain writers and journalists in order to harass and taunt the writers.
