Wagyu, if translated to English is, 'wa' as 'Japanese' and 'gyu' as 'beef' and is considered to be one of the most expensive meat in the market nowadays. I'm not so much of a beef person and I can't understand the hype people put on eating pricey beef burgers or beef steak.
Apparently, many restaurants abroad advertise using 100% pure wagyu beef and/or Kobe beef on their menu to attract customers but the truth is, they're using fake beef. I definitely can't tell the difference.
Have you eaten wagyu beef?

We do not eat beef, therefore, I have not heard about wagyu beef. Thanks for sharing.
I can tell you this much that India is one of the biggest exporter of beef meat.

@sol_cee Let me clear that when I wrote beef meat, I meant buffalo meat.
Yes, you are right that cows are worshiped here and people do not eat cow's meat in India.

i am not sure i would purposely eat "aged" beef. but i may have eaten it without knowing. a Souix friend of mine i discovered tended to leave a chunk of beef out a very long time before cooking but i never found that out until after i had eaten there a couple of times. she said it made it more flavorful and tender but not sure i could chance it these days as i was a lot younger back then. lol

I have priced Kobe beef and although I could afford it I won't pay that kind of money for it.

@sol_cee maybe intestinal parasitism if the beef is not properly cooked? or amoebiasis too if fresh vegetables are mixed to the meal?

Hm, can't say that I've experienced Japanese beef - it sounds great though! I am one of the "beef" people, a shame since it is so very expensive now.
