My previous post was about me celebrating my birthday in Tingloy Island located in the south Luzon of the Philippines. On that week I have learned that there were about 4,000 visitors who flocked their way to experience the white sand beaches and to check out the rock formation. That was a week before my visit. On April 4th at 8:58 PM, quake hit the island with a 5.1 magnitude. When I heard the news, my thought was with the people who are enjoying the beach, the cool breeze by the beach. No tsunami alert has been raised however the town was placed under the state of calamity because of the numerous aftershocks.
I am not a fan of travel or fond going out of town. Lately, I have seen my colleagues posting FB statuses with a hashtag 'vitamin sea' with the sea as their...

@ridingbet Yes, correct. I was just thinking about the tsunami though I have read on the news about no-tsunami-warning update.

@jobelbojel but it was earlier announced by the DOST that tsunami warnings were not given out. but still, we should be careful and safe whenever earthquake strikes.

The earthquake was felt here in Manila as well. I don't think there were significant damages but it is best to take all the necessary precaution.

I was wide awake that time but never felt the earth shaking. I did not feel. All I knew, I was already reading FB statuses about it.

I hope the people of Tingloy, a small town in Batangas had recovered from that "earthquake" phobia. Many of them said they still feel so many aftershocks. I love to go to that place, had not been there, only passed near that island when we went to Occidental Mindoro some years ago.

Yes, visit! It is actually 45-minute away from Puero Galera via boat/ferry. According to my friend, who planned to visit the place on the 19th April, his contact said that the island is okay, they are okay in the said island.
