I can't Flash On Opera.. (VPN preparation)

United States
April 6, 2017 3:26pm CST
I can on edge, but I'm still having difficulties. I am trying to get my computer ready to use a VPN so that I can watch shows from the UK (and possibly Australia too). I already have the VPN provider picked out, now I just need to get flash squared away. I know flash was giving me troubles the last time I tried to use it months ago. I will have to see about updating it and making sure I can use it for Opera... Technology isn't my strong point...

The reason that you are considering a VPN is obviously because the sites that you have in mind are restricted to their own country, such as BBC iPlayer is restricted to British access. I would be surprised if using a VPN would actually work because I suspect that such sites will not accept traffic from a VPN.

It is worth a try at the very least. I have picked out a company with a 30 day money back guarantee so that if it doesn't work for me, I won't lose any money because of it. The VPN I am going to use has already been tested for the BBC Iplayer. There is always the chance it might not work regardless, but it's worth the risk for me.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I would assumed that it would not work, but I may very well be wrong. I hope that I am mistaken and you are successful.

Not really... I mean companies have the power to block VPN's if they want.. I would say it's somewhat immoral, but as far as I am aware it's legal...

It was giving me problems at one point also. Good luck getting it set up. What are you going to watch? English history I will wager.

You wouldn't be wrong. English History will be one of the things I'll watch... but I won't limit myself there either...

I am going with ExpressVPN as it seems to be the most recommended for using it to watch overseas t.v.. I believe you even recommended it to me at one time? If I have any trouble I will let you know. Thanks.

@Mike197602 I am getting a 503 service unavailable error trying to go to BBC Iplayer though... and will I not need a license to access the iplayer?
