Anna Mary Robertson Moses She said "Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be." She was born in September of 1860 and lived to be over a hundred before her death in December, 13,1961 in Hoosick Falls, New York. In 1938 a collector of art, Louis J. Caldor, was in Hoosick Falls conducting his business as engineer of the state of New York. He happened into the drug store and discovered paintings in the window. These were the early works of Moses. She had her first solo exhibition "What a Farm Wife Painted" in the same town in October of 1940. In 1944 her work was represented by the American British Art Center and at the Galerie of St.Etienne. She died at 101 years of age at the Health Center in Hoosick Falls. She had one son named Forrest. Had married her husband, Thomas Salmon Moses, on November,09,1887. The marriage lasted until January,15,1927. Moses' paintings have been marketed on all kinds of merchandise including greeting cards and displayed at many museums. One painting of a holiday scene entitled The Sugaring Off was sold for $1.2 million in 2006.
